favourite opening

Wondering if having a favorite is a good thing or bad. Regardless, I like pawn to Queen 4 in the old terminology as white, but black is fine. I'm not a fan of the king's pawn opening. I'd like to learn more about openings though.

Yes, I just dont get how as black you play the kings knight variation. 
Do you mean you like playing the positions that come after kings knight variation as black?

I'm a club level player: The Colle-Koltanowski with White (with various pawn to .c4 variants against the Indians. )

Black: French Defense all the way. I prefer when White chooses the Advance Variation.

White: Always played Italian, starting to learn to appreciate some d4 lines.
