That was an interesting game, but I'd note that the White only entered the Hippo setup after the Black had made certain commitments. (Such as Nf6 and short castling)

It is called the hippo DEFENSE. And is used by black, not white. And almost no GM uses this as white. Because as the name suggests, it's defensive.

Which are both from black using the hippo.
Which you could argue about.
But using it as white?
Hm... for the record, I found the games interesting, although I don't completely agree.

Yet another example where a 2700+ GM was close to the white Hippo... At move 10 it was just a matter of taste for GM Nakamura to enter the Hippo set-up ..
PS. GM Nakamura is a friend of the Hippo ...:)))

Yes hippo defence is unbreakable if u want details read B-system by pafu.
It's my first time to see the hippo games. Its quite good i'll try it out.
Yeah ihave read a book begginers opening by pafu it deals with above 70 variations of hippo and how to attack an hippo.some times crab opening works best against hippo. That book is a free download give it a try.
How to defend against a quick f4
In this game the white player castled queen side and black (me ) came up with a bold f5 pawn push which paved way for victory .It is a good game as it was under 15 min 10 sec increment time control.though the opponent was an avergae player it was an enjoyable game.
