King's Indian

Hi! I have a question. I've been playing the Sicilian as black a lot, but this one guy keeps crushing my kingside too quickly for me to launch a counter atk. Do you recommend King's Indian? I've only played it sporadically, but it seems to have a good record.

Do you mean the King's Indian Defense? AFAIK, the KID is a defense against 1.d4... whereas the Sicilian is a defense against 1.e4. If you're getting crushed in the Sicilian, you have two options:

 1) actually LEARN the Sicilian(sorry, hate to be a jerk but somebody has to be blunt.)

2) learn a different system. maybe the French.

If you want to learn the French, I pretty much have all of the variations of the French you need.  Check it out in my blog.  If you still like the Sicilian, take a while to analyze each of his moves.  Find his idea.  If he starts to run at your king, marshal your forces against his king.  Chess is a game of wills.  If he strays from his mission to attack your kingside to defend his, you have the initiative and an advantage.  He must continue his plan.  Make necessary moves to slow down or ward off his attack if it is needed.  Otherwise, continue with your plan.  I'm talking about playing open sicilians such as the Dragon or Najdorf.

sicilian is pretty tough. WIthout a book to memorize some variations, you're going to get lost pretty quick. Try one of the various other openings that are a little easier to play before moving up to the sicilian. Scandanavian is a good one. Try it out.
