Amazing. I’m sure there will be people who come in and say the Morra is terrible, but this is what keeps chess interesting. Love it!

The Smith Morra is terrible.

Very odd seeing you Bragg when your opponent made such a bad blunder.

Nd5 is a theoretical move in some positions in the morra. He was losing either way and things got very complicated for black very quickly. In some lines you just sac the knight on d5 for a space advantage that is absolutely crushing.

I’ve been doing essermans chessable course and I just have to disagree that the morra is terrible. This opening leads to such confusing positions for black and with diligent study white will win many games vs good opponents who are well booked up on conventional Sicilian lines. If they decline then we play the alapin which I also study . It’s just my way of playing the game I want to play. I pretty much don’t have to worry about Sicilian players and get to play fun romantic chess. If you actually study the morra, it’s good. I’ve beaten titled players with this opening and damn near beat a fide master in rapid but blundered a completely winning endgame up like 5 minutes on the clock. When it stops working, I’ll study the conventional lines.
