Ornaments gambit is unsound as if the dark squared bishop captures the f4 black pawn then the queenside dark squared weaknesses are significant
I updated the list of lines we have now!!
I included the Sleigh Defence, Ornaments Gambit!
The line isn't very sound!
However, you have to admit it does see interesting!
I have also added the other lines we mentioned
Jiggle Bells Defense!
A few more lines we have!
If anyone has ever played the Scandivian Defense than these queen moves might not seen new to you!!!
In the mainline of the Christmas Stocking-Counter line.
Black takes the pawn on d5.
White hits the queen with Nc3!
Afterwhich black has 3 queen moves!
Qa5 will be the mainline.
Since it is the most active stop just like in the Scandi!
Qd6 and Qd8 are other moves which can be played as well!
In the Scandi Qd6 is sometimes called the Scandinavian Defense/
Gubinsky-Melts Defense
Our position is different than the Scandi!
However, The queen move is kind of the same!
We are calling the line after Christmas names!
Thus, I will call this line the Snow-Melts Defense!
The Qd8 line I shall call that the Classical Variation
In the Scandi they often do call Qd8 the Old mainline or Classical!
I was thinking of what line to call the "Snowball"
Than I found an interesting line in the Grinch Defense!
What do you guys/gals think about that?
I am sure people know what snowball fights are!
People try to form a snowball with snow and throw them at people!
I was thinking of a line which trys to throw one of blacks pawns at white with out it being a gambit!
In this position if white takes the b5 pawn with his knight he would lose the e4 pawn so its not really a gambit!
Bascially it is a weird way to trade pawns.
However, the e4 pawn is obviously more valueable than the b5 pawn!
White probably shouldn't take the b5 pawn like this.
White should continue trying to develop etc!
The idea I have with b5 as black would be to get the bishop on c8 to b7!
Black would than potientally be threatening to play Bb7 to double attack e4!
Black could play the move b6 which would also help them play Bb7.
However, the move b5 throws the black pawn further up the board gaining queen side space + It allows black to play Bb7!
You have to admit it would be a funny variation!
People would be like why on earth is he throwing up his B pawn to b5?
You would respond with because I'm playing the Snowball Variation DUH!
1750 player falls victim to the Santa Claus Opening????

A naughty player named Harold tryed to steal christmas like the Grinch!
Santa Claus was not fooled by Harolds play!
Santa checked his list and he checked it twice!
He found out Harold was naughty and not nice!
Santa played a chess game which was simply divine!
Naughty Harold was forced to resign!
Poor Harold resigned because he saw the end was near!
