The Santa Claus Opening

Sort:

Every Christmas, Santa makes his move. It's a slow game.

I'm actually losing. I think Santa has an engine.

The Santa Claus opening was in fact played.

HOWEVER!!!!

The game was

(1.e4 c6!!! 2.b3)

So some kind of Caro-Kann variation. It is known as the Santa Claus Opening - Karpov's Gift.

If after (2.b3) (d5) is played it is Standard Variation, making it Santa Claus Opening - Karpov's Gift, Standard Variation.

If after (2.b3) (e5) is played it is the Gunderam Non-Gambit, making it Santa Claus Opening - Karpov's Gift, Gunderam Non-Gambit.

If after either of them Nf3 is played, add Reindeer Variation.

If after either of them Nc3 is played, add Reversed Reindeer Variation.

If after the Gunderam Non-Gambit Bb2 is played, add Fianchetto Line.

If after the Standard is played, exd5 is played, add Santa's Sac.

If after the standard is played e5 is played, add Through the Chimney.

I just made 8 opening lines for Santa Claus Opening. Now let's beg none are taken.

Now what was my game, you may ask?

I'm on the 6th move, and it looks like this.

(1.e4 c6 2.b3 [Santa Claus Attack - Karpov's Gift] d5 [Standard Variation] 3.e5 [Through The Chimney, opening is now complete.] Bf5 4.d4 c5 5.Bb2 Nc6 6.Nf3 e6)

Ok, so apparently it's the Euwe Attack. (1.e4 c6 2.b3) but after that it's unnamed. So we can name it.

Why?  You want to see Santa in a Speedo instead of a red jump suit?

arya-shatranj
@thegreatauk I will call this idea the Santa Weight Gambit as he gambits a pawn : gambits weight and after months of eating cookies he gets fat and wins the game
thegreatauk

100 years ago the Sicilian Defense was considered to be an Inferior Defense.

Your post #425 is a diagram of a Sicilian Defense.

Followers of Wilhelm Steinitz would agrue you have commited a mistake simply because you didn't reply to 1.e4 in a Classical Fashion 1...e5.

I thought you said you was going to show me a game with no mistakes?

BronsteinPawn

Wow. Congrats on knowing chess history big boy.

However chess is not about what you think is correct, but about analysis.

Care to buy a brain on ebay? They are not so expensive
