Tree attack?

Well I like the name!

The Christmas Tree Attack!

However, we got to fix the variation though.

Well it is good that you are at least giving out idea's.

We could try and improve on this line for sure.

Which is why I created this forum!

Ok. Let's see...

I am a complete idiot!

The move 3.Bb2 is like the normal move I believe.

However, 3.Nf3 is the The Santa Claus Reindeer Attack

Yeah don't mind me Fin. I am so confused lol.

You can play 3.Nf3 I totally forgot.

Unless your prefer 3.Bb2.

Regarding post 91: Doesn't that fail to Nxe4? I like the idea, but perhaps it should be played a bit later.

Santa Claus Opening/Tree Attack/Naka Variation*

*Naka means centre in Japanese.

Yes, it does.

finn416

Scrap 91 then. Here's a new one. Santa Claus Opening/Tree Attack/Classic Variation

An exciting system!

I think I like 3.Bb2 better.

The question is what happens after the following moves.

X_PLAYER_J_X

Here is what I was doing against the move 4...Bb4!

Well since you guys are here what do you guys think?

Check this out.

Yeah I have played both Bd3 and Ne2.

I don't know which move is better.

However, I think both moves have some merit maybe.

I suppose the pawn push d3 could be played as well.

To defend the e4 pawn.

finn416

Hmm... How about...

Yes, but I think my set of moves are better for White. But what about Black?

finn416

What do you think of this?

X_PLAYER_J_X

Well Finn416 I think it is an interesting idea.

The question would be is the move 5.Nf3 a gambit line?

The move 5.Nf3 doesn't address the threat black has on e4.

Which means after the following moves:

If black castles instead of taking the knight on c3 + e4 pawn than maybe we do have other options for white at that point.

However, the question would be what if black finds this line.

finn416

True. Maybe d3?
