Ruy lopez has soooooooooooo much lines that I as a 1800 refuse to study it.

Does this mean you don't play 1...e5 or that you have a move 3 other than the Morphy Variation (a6)?

Ah yes what an eloquent game that was indeed

Idk but i personally see alot of caro variation and alot of immediate mistakes that lead to a better position.

nimzo and hard to play?

Actually according to the lichess database it kinda is. The fact the catalan has 52% winrate is already a red herring.

Catalan is not nimzo

Nimzowitsch defense or nimzo indian defense?

lmao no one refers to the Nimzowitch defense as "nimzo" (it's not nearly as popular as the nimzo).

He's obviously referring to the Nimzo-Indian defense

[a game with a blunder from Ruy Lopez]

Well, now you know what not to do. The move Nd4 is not only a wasted tempo but also drops the exchange and wrecks your position. Now that you know that, you can try to make further improvements until you fine tune your Lopez response.

King's Pawn is the easiest though, unrelevant to the topic

Modern Benoni.

I got the hang of the Sicilian Najdorf long before I figured out how to play a Benoni properly.

At the club level... just about everything a GM calls a main line.
