what do you guys think of this opening?

Not very good, in all candour. White is down a pawn and lagging behind in development. The advantage is that white possesses control over the center, but it would be best to stick with already established openings while you're learning the game.

Look similar to the Evan's Gambit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evans_Gambit), although with the b4 push a couple of moves too early.  I have been wanting to try out the Evan's Gambit, but I'm a bit too much of a King's Gambit player.  Whenever I think about playing it, I find I've already impulsive pushed that f pawn on move 2, instead.  Smile

Actually, I think your opponent played black wrong. I think the result would end up looking more like the game below. At which point, I think this opening as white is not very good at all. Black gets 2 developed pieces, and white has abolsutely no pawn defense on half the board...

Well, all of your important pieces are exposed, even though you might have control of the middle for a few seconds. Then the king is dangerously exposed, and the center is not controlled very well by a pair of isolated pawns. I would think that unless you had an opponent who blunders badly in attacking your exposed pieces incorrectly, you would have a major fight in just defending against black's counterattack.

Yeah I get what your saying. On this game I managed a win but with only my knights and queen all my other pieces weren't doing much so I will not try to use this.
