IQ

I know that for many this will seem like a sterile subject, as his achievements were built on phenomenal will power or application as well as on phenomenal talent, but it has an interest for some. It`s about Bobby Fischer`s IQ- has anyone come across an estimate or measurement?

After a quick search, 187 came up a few times.

Who knows if it's true though.

That must be almost off the scale? IS there an upper limit on the scale?

been able to find out when or where he was tested.

Which IQ test? It all depends.

in the book 'bobby fischer goes to war', it is said to be estimated over 180.

I think that is the issue.  Everything I have read says estimate or

gives an IQ range without listing an actual test or referencing

any actual test.  I don't doubt his IQ was in the 180's based on

his chess play, but an IQ test covers a wider range of skills.
