Fyah,

Chess is a way of life. We don't play to win. We're just trying to find something......or at least I am.....something I can figure you out and understand.....is it any better to be a reverand or a musician....they inspire people as do chess players

i guess if you think about it in the grand sceme of life nothing is actually "worth it" per se. but to get good at a game that has spanned the ages and has stood a test of time seems pretty cool to me! i mean, even when im older and cant play soccer or hacky sac or anything, im sure i could still give a good game of chess! and chess has been around so long its not really proper to call it a fad unless youre using that term subjectively. i mean, 30 years from now when im 50 years old how many ppl will be playing Halo 3?

i guess all in all its a timeless, international game. so i guess in my opinion why play chess? psh! why not?! collectively over the ages it could have been the most popular game ever!

does anyone else get that feeling like: "man, arch bishop so-and-so could have been in this EXACT position im in! how wild!"
