plz help anyone know the correct current way to get candidate master in chess?

I have went to a lot of websites and guides to how to become a candidate master. I know the must-haves, like getting a 2200+ elo. But some people are saying, and some aren't, that you must pay money, participate in official FIDE matches, or some other stuff that I am kind of concerned about. When I went to the FIDE Wiki page, it said I only need a 2200 elo to get the CM title and it would grant it to me immediately. Just to give you some insight, I am a former 1570 who has defeated the Li bot once, but I am pretty washed up. Can someone tell me if 2200 elo is all I need and it would be granted immediately, or is there some other requirement that I am not aware about?

You would need to get a 2200+ in FIDE regular rated OTB events. There is a fee paid for titles and is charged to the player's federation. If that federation doesn't pay it then the player would be responsible. It's 50 Euros for the CM title.

So getting a 2200 is chess.com is not enough? And how do I participate in these FIDE OTB events?

No, you can't get the title from online play.

If your flag is correct, you would need to join the US Chess Federation and find tournaments to play in that are FIDE regular rated (not rapid or blitz and in the US those would be rated under US Chess and FIDE). Those can be found on the US Chess events calendar.
