There are people and there are people. You can always find different personalities in the jungle. You can be Marcus, Crystal, Bob, Kenney, Sugar or Randy. Take your pick or be piqued. It is how you carry yourself that matters.

I *COULD* say something like "That's what you get for playing on another site", but I won't. :-)

But, .....    you did say it, Josh.

Just recently, on another site, I encountered behavior I would not believe possible of a chess player.  After winning a game, my opponent sent me literally hundreds of messages talking about how terrible a player I was and how it was pure luck that I had won, and how he had a won position before I had "gotten lucky through my stupidity, after making such @#! terrible moves" and "worthless tactics" that he "saw straight through" and other degrading comments.  I just put up this topic because I seem to be playing a lot of classless players, and am I just having bad luck with my opponents, or is the vision of the chess player as a gentleman (or woman) going to the dogs?

wow sorry u had a bad experience. İf you like contact chess.com!

1) It wasn't on chess.com, and

2)  A guy like that is enough of an embarrassment to himself without people embarassing him for him.

victhestick

I didn't know there is an abuse button.

Not that I have ever needed it.  It is just nice to know it is there.

willisl0

stop playing on other sites!!!!

thewordengine

Sorry, but when a player becomes irate from a loss, I find the victory that much sweeter.

OZZIE

I have been sworn at only once they said "alright now you really f**ked me up" because i was beating him, what a rude guy!

cruzfranzenrico

dont mind them. just make your moves. beat them with moves. if a rude player beat me, i will not be upset. i will just say thank you and take care. no sense fighting with primates and idiots.

Nice point, but what if the primate has a knife like in this thread? http://www.chess.com/forum/view/help-support/staff-question

MoTheCat

So you beat him with "worthless tactics"? Geez - what does that say about HIS playing?

Send him some completely unrelated Chinese proverb then put him on ignore.

Life is too short to feed trolls. They love nothing more than to find out that they bugged you.

Btw - this is my first post here. Hi everybody! I'm terrible at chess right now but am looking forward to getting better. So far this site is top-notch IMO.

I have to say; just ignore him. He or she is unimportant to your specific chesscareer. 100th of messages.....it just proves my point....ignore it and belive in yourself....if you know you can beat him/her in a number of games...their ego is not very interesting to make account of. And I know, since I deal with real psychoes every day in my work.

city-kids3

I'd just mark it as spam lolCool

Sorry about that -- I was going through a difficult time in my life.

This is all my fault, come home honey.
