I don't know.... Seriously I have been having these insane "chess moods", if you will. I have been rated up into the mid 1800's and into the low 1100's.. I don't how I can sometimes play beyond even my own understanding of the game and then turn around and play so horrible I feel ashamed to call myself a chessplayer.
You see sometimes I see the board differently - I play a lot of games half asleep at 1-4 a.m. and that is probably not the best position for chess games but hey! What else am I to do? Anyway, yes sometimes especially if im comfortable and I guess in a good chess mood I can look at a chessboard and see many many moves, it just seems like a small board in which there are hardly any pieces - I feel like I know everything to know about the game, and when I play a game I can see almost everything my brain will allow me to comprehend, nevertheless - there are times when I look at the board and see it as a HUGE block of squares and tons of pieces I don't know anything about. In those games I surely lose, and the games im good in I surely win.
Are these changes in sight of the board moods? Chess moods? Or what? Do masters have such things like these? I know everyone loses and everyone has their off days. But this is different - It feels like I know the game, but im not feeling it. When I am feeling it im happy to be in a game and im very confident.
What im trying to say is: Do other people (masters or non masters) see the board any differently at times?
