Alekhine because of his innovative ideas and aggressive presence and play over the board.
Bordonnais, Amant, Philidor, Benko, Lagrave, Bacrot, Fressinet, and Firouzja are my honorable mentions.
Well if we count people who like came to France like Alekhine, Spassky, etc it's easily Alekhine hands down. If it's just French-born I'd say Vachier Lagrave.

Alireza Firouzja because he is young 21 year old , very tallent and just very strong having played many times against the top Gms and also participated in the candidate 2024.
Now I find he has a combativeness problem and therefore because of physical fatigue I think he will end up failing. Maxime Vachier-Lagrave even if less strong than him imo he doesn't have this kind of problem with combativeness and therefore I think he is more inclined than him to end up being the big winner of the tournament etc.
