Seems he's having plenty of them on this site. Now i do understand what he means, but u have to remember that people should be allowed a curtain degree of freedom of speech for a start as long as its not racial or anything of that nature of course. You have lots of people on this site as u have noted and that means people of all walks life with there own idea's and thoughts. So pls be a little more understanding of others who's views are not the same as yours...
Why I'm getting ready to leave this site for good
" I'm through complaining. If the community would like me to remove my post I will."
I (we) defend your right to say whatever you like however wrong (or prejudiced) I (we) think it may be.
I canot agree with anything you have said either
there is no competition to this site
um. what's wrong with the 'I'm first' game on daily puzzles? I don't play it myself, but its hardly objectionable.
It does get annoying when you know someone obviously hasn't solved the puzzle but posts it up anyway. There've been some very tough puzzles on that daily puzzle thingy that I couldn't solve and I'm 1500+ yet people with 1000 something ratings can not only finish it under a minute but also post up that they've finished it first. Highly doubtful.
Still it's not a reason to leave the site.
The birds harassing the owl seem to be grackles. Now there is a morning bird battle over this territory between grackles and more aggressive songbirds. Everybody likes birds, right?
Too bad birds can't play chess.
I am amazed at how easily some people's strings can be pulled. Are humans beings so easily manipulated and controlled? Saying "first" can really cause some people to become so frustrated and so disatisfied with this website that it will cause them to leave? With all due respect, this sounds pathetic. Just do not look at the comments. Have your screen show the puzzle but not the first comment, solve the puzzle and then go somewhere else, whether to your CC games or live chess, ect. Do you seriously check the first few comments every day and get annoyed by them everyday? It sounds silly to me.
I'd also like to point out that those people who post those ridiculous "first","next" etc. messages may not be waiting for midnight. Funny thing about the world, the time is different than in Tennessee in many places.
Yo Arnie, hope you're not playin with tennessee. good place, good people. Wait, what was this post about? O yeah, birds. Birds arguing in the morning.
My 2 cents worth is just this: If you cannot see the value of this site with all that is has to offer, then go already, and don't bum it out for the rest of us who clearly see the advantages. My word, just look at all the free stuff offered on this site for those of us who have not committed to joining yet, absolutely amazing. This fact alone, makes this site invaluable to me. When playing live chess, and my opponent makes a rotten move and decides to bugger out, he loses, on other sites he gets away with it and your stuck! What makes it worse is, if you want to leave the game after your opponent has vanished, you cannot, you have to use the quit button to leave the game and you lose the game to him. Talk about a real bugger! But on this site he gets his just rewards. If you can't see the value in this site even just for that, then I say, move on already!
Good Luck!

Yes, yes, I'm completely aware of this new and fascinating "time zone" concept. Look, I stated my grievance. I am acknowleging that my post is a rant. From the bottom of my heart, I apologize deeply to whom my post may have been offensive.
I just get tired of scrolling through 4 pages of "first" and "easy" to gain some insight to others' ideas about the puzzles.
a few thoughts:
#1 - this post made me really, really happy. why? because in a site that features several ways to play chess, dozens of ways to learn chess, and a bloated feature list that is overwhelmingly complex, the most frustrating thing for Remludar is ~3 silly posts today that aren't even created by us. phew - it could have been worse!
#2 - i totally understand the feeling. i sometimes get irritated by the quality of some forum posts and topics. and i think it's fair to feel that way. :)
#3 - there is a formula people have to use when creating products (and in everything else in life i believe): you will always fail to please 10% of the people. if you change something to please some people, other people will invariably be upset by it. for example, if we started having a heavier hand in the forums as called for here, then surely some people would decry Chess.com as being too harsh in moderation. we would only succeed in moving around who is in that 10%. honestly, this is a really difficult principle for a people-pleaser like me. you have no idea how frustrating it is for me to know that there are people out there that dislike chess.com for whatever reason. :( i just have to breathe deep and accept it.
#4 - public forum + annonymity = stupid behavior! i am more sure of this law than i am of that of gravity. that said, attempts to legislate against stupidity have always failed.
#5 - the Daily Puzzle is nothing more than a random chess puzzle chosen to be spotlighted for a day so that people can come together, see a puzzle, try it, and comment on it. if the comments are irritating, i suggest you either not read them (as i do), or avoid the daily puzzle altogether and focus on Tactics Trainer where there are more than 12,000 chess problems and nobody is posting FIRST in there.
thanks to everyone for helping make Chess.com what it is! :)
Easy folks, anyone can have a bad day.
