It's a sequence of a discovered check; then a regular check; followed by a discovered check, etc.
This is the first time i heard about windwill tactic, but it is very interesting.

I actually learned about the windmill tactic - or at least the name for it - a few days ago... Great example Skipp!
The windmill tactic is an incredible and ingenious way of getting ahead in material.
I got the example from Yassir Seriwan's book "Winning Chess Tactics", which I've been studying; since I'm a rank beginner [at age 57] and am just now trying to learn this fascinating [and frustrating] game. How a game can draw you into it and then make you want to rip out your hair, I'll never understand.
