As white has the advantage of the first move, black has to be wary of early attacks on the king which can prevent castling. A variant could allow black, but not white, to castle out of check.

Do you think that allowing black to castle out of check would overcompensate and tilt the advantage over to white? I was thinking it would make the game more equal.
