I've tried blindfold chess a few times. I'm not good at it
I noticed a funny observation with my blindfold chess. I play well ONLY from what I knew in opening theory. Then like one or two moves out of my opening theory, I begin hanging everything as my visualization becomes too blurry.
If we play blindfold chess for an opening I know, then 10+ moves I'm completely fine.
If you play something like 1. h3 and I'm out of book, then I probably lose my queen before move 10 lol
I think that chess with checkers on the variant page would be a good introduction to blindfold chess, and may help develop those skills if played enough. What are your thoughts? Please let me know if you all have ever played blindfold chess!
