Yes, they have additional cells on the side. I made them based on Gothic chess, which uses an archbishop and a chancellor, plus two pawns and new squares added to each side. I decided to add an Amazon (a mixture of a queen and a knight) and a bull (a mixture of a horse and a camel). And I had a problem, castling is done as in the original chess, on two squares, which is quite useless in this version of chess.
