How popular are variants?

Im not a huge variants players, a bit now and then. How popular are the varients and which are the most popular? (I am thinking 960?)

Is there a chart that shows the variants player stats as in how many are playing each format.

And are their tournaments for the varients (other than 960)

Just wondered.

i am not sure if there is a chart or anything but i know chess960 and atomic are popular and actually good

Been playing 4 player Chaturaji for a long time now. Think the regular 4 player chess is most popular variant. Other popular ones are 960, fog of war, atomic, Chaturaji, duck chess, crazyhouse…

Oh and if you go to “4 player and variants” it should show you off to the right how many people are playing each
