With the current state of the app, pieces are movable to anywhere on the board. I'm working on highlighting legal moves.
Infinite Chess: Official release!
Hey, are you still working on this?
Sorry for the delay! I've been taking a little break. Having to basically rewrite what I have so far has somewhat burned me. I will continue this shortly though!
Finished reorganizing the app into a module pattern. I can work on adding features again.
Legal moves are now enforced. Working on check detection.
Pushing '~' will turn on developer mode, revealing what's normally off-screen.
Yes, but at what speed? And does the theory of relativity apply here?
There is no speed limit. In 1 move you can move a distance any natural number up to but not including infinity, represented by the symbol omega ω. Should I modify the description?

just kidding
Looks awesome! I assume the board editor will come with a range of fairy pieces?
Depends. What kind of pieces would you like? When I first finish the editor it will probably not contain additional pieces than the base game. But depending on how complex/simple the moveset is I may be adding several more shortly after.

I was thinking just the Amazon and Archbishop.
i have an idea
make it so that we can add our own custom pieces by defining their rules
then they can be used to make games
and once you created a game, you can put a challenge
which people can accept, but only once theyve read all the rules
and maybe you could name these
more on my idea
so it would be a page with two sub tabs
one with a board to place pieces on
another to create your pieces
the look would probably have to be imported, for the pieces; and i think it should be consistent
names too, and abbreviations would be three letters long with the unnecessary ones auto removed- so if theres a piece abc, and another abd in the same game, both would have the three letters, but if no, it would be just ab
then we would have a piece and (for user friendliness) it would be like this:
a dot will be taken for jumped to places
an arrow for sliding, and that can be limited; and it would be a separate option (than the dot) to allow for knightrider stuff
then a bunch of special powers can be added, being checkboxes
or, if we dont care about user friendliness, we can have a sort of notation (inspired by betzas, of course) to enable many many more things and in a more consise way; though how to show this visually would be challenging, maybe a rules section taking these notations and making it human readable? or that could be done by the designer??
add more, this is just my very rough first idea
Welcome! This will be the forum where I post updates on the development of Infinite Chess on www.InfiniteChess.org! For the first time ever, you can now play live Infinite Chess games! This is chess on an infinite board, no walls, no borders, chess open world!
I have many more features planned, including:
... and more! Follow for updates! I am more active on the Infinite Chess discord server: https://discord.gg/NFWFGZeNh5
I created a similar program years back for moderating infinite chess games (including the popular NEISG), but the drawback was it was tricky to install, not web-based, and not well optimized. This modern version is accessible to all!
This is an indie project I've put countless hours into. If you like what you see and want to help me in my endeavor, please consider donating through my Patreon. Members are displayed on the home page of the website, and in the credits of all videos I make!
