But you know that the percentage a game that exists a pawn promoting is very low

aserew12

Im gonna try it with my little brother

aserew12

Think about checkmating your opponent with your aha XD

aserew12

Also, if we dont limit the piece a queen+royal rook Will be too Hard to win against

Green_Sleeves

In the rules I have, king and queen are not allowed as Ahabs. As for rook, that one is kind of hard, but imo it’s no harder than the other pieces, especially when using the bare piece rule.

How about, you can choose to spend a turn to “inquire” about an enemy piece. If the piece is the ahab, it must move like a king for the rest of the game. So that way, even if your opponent chooses the queen, you can inquire and then it won’t be so powerful.
Green_Sleeves

Then the players could just spend the first 16 moves inquiring. And whoever finds the Ahab first has an edge.

Yeah, any good players would just choose rooks and it would be too boring.

And with the new variant of "inquiring" I think @Green_Sleeves is right.

I mean if the rook is royal and has a queen it Will be too hard

T-jankins9522
What if you can only inquire once for every time you capture a piece? Like if you capture a piece, then you have one inquire charge, or if you capture five, then you have five inquire charges. Makes people be more aggressive.

Another thing about the inquiring idea, if you know it’s a pawn, and you inquire, then the pawn becomes a king and has better movement.

Maybe one for every 3/4 points of material

aserew12

But ı dont think we should overcomplicate things

aserew12

If you dont have an unhumanly huge material advantage theres no way you can win against rook+queen (Either could be royal through promotion)
