New Variant Idea: Ahab Chess
Hey guys, I'm still working on developing this variant and solidifying the rules and getting test games. To that end, I've created a group dedicated to this variant!

Please join if you'd like to help me test Ahab Chess!
Interesting. That’s a cool idea. If Ahab Chess gets accepted, then the coding they’ll do would make Decoy Roy possible to create, and then you could submit that in the Custom Variants club.
However, if 2 kings get killed, the player will lose. In Ahab chess, we need to kill more than 2 for sure.
Nevertheless, interesting idea, it contains our history!
What @thenormalnoob is saying is that there are only 2 options for where the royal is hiding, versus Ahab chess having 14 options for where the royal is hiding.
Umm... killing 2 kings is ensured that the game over. That means we have 2 targets, less than in Ahab Chess we have unidentified targets.
Then they can have only one weak target to attack
Then they can have only one weak target to attack
Indeed. Choosing your opponent’s Ahab would defeat the entire purpose of the game 😆
Yeah, I did. It’s an interesting concept worth playing with. Possibly even a limit of 3 squares. The current setup I have is that there are no limitations on how the piece can move, but there’s a bare piece rule—meaning if your only remaining piece is your Ahab, you lose. That’s seemed to work pretty well in my test games, but this could be a cool idea, as a way of giving a hint to your opponent when trying to find the Ahab.
It essencially limit all pieces except queen unless you wanna expose your king and solves a royl pawn being uncapturable
