My first game only had a queen and bishop switched.... which in turn made us try to get back to a classical position as fast as possible lol
The Classical Position
I just started a game with only the queen rook and knight switched. It was such a minor change I almost thought it was just a regular game at first.
No, but I've hoped for it! I also wouldn't mind the same position but with the king/queen reversed. It would be unlucky if this occured in a chess960 tournament, as all games have the same starting position!
With the king and queen reversed, the result of castling would be slightly different than standard chess. Standard opening theory would not apply. For example, if you tried to replicate the structure of the Ruy Lopez Berlin Defence,
1 d4 d5 ( remember this is from a Chess960 position with the King on d and the Queen on e ) 2 Nc3 Nf6 3 Bg5 Nc6 now white can play 4 0-0-0 guarding the pawn and Black's counterplay normally seen in the Berlin isn't there.
