2024 Chess.com Community Championships series is back with its fifth event of the year: The Duck Chess Championship will be happening September 19-20, so get ready for these pesky, invasive yellow rubber figures bringing madness all over the chessboard and ruining plans!
Duck Chess is one of Chess.com's most popular variants. Invented by Dr. Tim Paulden in 2016 and debuted on Chess.com in 2023, the variant quickly went viral with content creators playing through all its new tactical possibilities and super-sharp nature.
With the first qualifier arena starting at 9 a.m. ET/15:00 CEST, September 19 will have a total of eight qualifiers through the day, with the winner of each tournament moving forward to the Finals on September 20, consisting of an eight-player double-elimination knockout to declare this year's Duck Chess Champion. 🦆
Players of all levels are welcome to participate. This is your chance to play against masters like GMs Andrew Tang, Vladimir Fedoseev, Awonder Liang, Jeffery Xiong, and others who have all won previous Chess.com Community Championships.
Watch the live finals broadcast in our Twitch and YouTube community channels.
