Page Unresponsive (annoying interruptions)
If you read my message again, this happens nowhere else. Only on chess.com. It began about the same time the formatting of the site changes.

Suddenly, in the last few days, I get a "Page Unresponsive" alert while I am on the chess.com website. It happens nowhere else but is suddenly happening here A LOT! (I got three -- no four!-- such alerts while trying to type this message!) I have to stop and click on the blue WAIT button before I can continue looking at the page.
What gives? This is new and seems to be exclusive to chess.com.
Ken
Are you on Chrome? What version?
Also, have you tried clearing your browser cache?
Finally, are you running any ad blockers? One person that had a similar issue had the unresponsiveness caused by that.
Thanks. I will check into the adblocker issue. We will see. (This is all sudden, very new. I've been on chess.com for several years and this started several days ago.)

The site updated the Navigation menus which could be related.
Having the exact same issue in chrome, just started within the last week. I've noticed that when the alert pops up it says the site that stopped working is "safeframe.googlesyndication...." and the url trails off, but the icon still says it's for chess.com. Hopefully that's helpful to someone on the chess.com team to fix whatever this is.
I was getting this popup constantly. Adblock on vs off did not seem to have any effect. I just upgraded to Chrome Version 100.0.4896.88 and that seems to have fixed it.
Correction, it is now on 100.0.4896.88.
I think it did 2 small updates, first .75 and now the current version, .88. I had to restart my browser twice.
I've been having the exact same issue. Any luck with finding a solution? It's getting really annoying playing blitz games and getting into time scrambles.
At this time the problems seems to have stopped, right after I gave my adblocker access to the site. We will see if this reappears.
In doing a reinstall of chrome - the old browser might not completely delete its old files.
I use Hi-bit uninstaller Free software download for that.
It cleans up the Leftovers - so you don't get bad cookies and bad browser settings and stuff like that.
Then i install from the latest chrome download.
Its called clean reinstall.
People watching carefully might think
how could he download the latest chrome exe if he's already uninstalled his browser ??
You download the latest chrome exe. into your downloads folder - before you uninstall Chrome ! 😁

Or, if you're on Linux, you just download a browser directly from the Linux repository. Easy peasy...

Linux is interesting.
I tried downloading a Linux 'distro' once called Linux Mint.
I thought it would be really great - because I wanted a 'bare bones' operating system with the absolute minimum programs needed to just have text files and get on the internet and so on. And then add stuff only if and when I wanted.
It was anything but that. Zillions of tons of stuff to uninstall.
Got rid of it fast.
But having said that ... Linux and Mac are much superior to Windows.
Steve Jobs did the Jobs.
And Apple is now the richest company in the whole world if I remember correctly ... #1 of the three Trillionaire corporations?

I use Linux Mint. I'm comfortable using the terminal when I need to, but Mint isn't designed to be text only. It normally runs with a graphical desktop.
