before hitting 2300 you were consistently 2150-2250, you don't just become a rating permanently cause you hit it once
Went from 2300 to 2200 in blitz after not playing for a while, considering to quit chess

That's competiton being competition, while you're not playing they are studying chess theory, solving tactics, e.c.t. it should be a norm at this level, not sure why you're not used to it
