I play on the app but there’s lots of things I can’t do like report posts, read people’s bio and play variants. Isn’t it good for the developers if we download the app so why is it worse than the website?
It may be newer but none of this functionality is something that can’t be achieved. It boils down to apathy and pursuit of profit over all else. It’s that simple. You can ride your name recognition and harvest sub dollars regardless of whether you enhance user experience or not. Why would you waste money trying to make things better for your users when you can cut development teams and increase the bottom line for shareholders/higher-ups? This site is an exemplification of the negative aspects of capitalist thinking, and we all suffer for it.
And the app is definitely not “new”. They have consciously decided to ignore a better user experience in order to prioritize pushing subscriptions. It’s apathy and greed; plain and simple
