Rook bishop and knight would be a decent advantage in most positions I imagine, probably drawn as a pure endgame?

The rook, knight, and bishop is much better (likely winning) over the two rooks and is usually better than two rooks and a pawn. If the rook, knight, and bishop are active, they can attack and mate the enemy king. It's harder for two rooks to do so (though ladder mates exist).

If position is not locked, it is actually win.
If position is locked, it is still win, but usually it is hard to win but not draw.

Position matters quite a bit. The point value of pieces doesn't inherently determine which is better. A rook, knight, and pawn are slightly worse than an active queen, who can move across the board and deliver a lot of pressure if the opponents knight and rook aren't se. If coordinated, however, the power of the piece duo can definitely winΒ

I remember listening to a chess legend (maybe Garry?) say computer thinks bishop is worth like 3.3 and knight a 3.1-3.2 so combined they are quite a bit stronger than a rook.

Any thoughts on 2 rooks vs. Rook, Bishop, Knight? Β seems like you only can keep the advantage so long as you keep the 2 rooks?
