In all seriousness Malmsbury is right. Also learning to know when trading is beneficial to you. Even if you may not gain a material advantage, sometimes trading will take away a good position your opponent had and make use of a piece which may not have been useful.

Not titled, but seeing as my rating is about 400 points higher, I will add my input anyways. Most endgames that are winning for either player are typically only winning if they make one very specific move or series of moves. Not following this move will most of the time end in a draw. But other than that, learning the art of Zugzwang is important for endgames in chess. Most king and pawn endgames require learning it entirely.

Good point. Which also means to never give up on an endgame. If you are at a decisive piece disadvantage then it will be tough to come back, but if you are only down 3 points, especially at your level, just keep trying to make good moves because the chances your opponent makes a mistake is high.

Also, just a translation for the lower level players who may not know what Zugzwang is: it is essentially when you make a move that forces your opponent to make a move that losses them a piece or puts them in a precarious position. Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong on that.
