The guides on this and videos don't cover all the scenarios. So the Maximum engine keeps running circles round me when I pratice. If I do get the mate, it's like 50/50. Not guaranteed.

They need to break it down into how to respond to what the King does. I've watched lots of videos on Youtube - but nothing is detailed enough for me to understand.

It would really help if chess.com also overlaid space - like in this picture too.

Though mating whith knight and bishop vs lone king is soooo difficult!

That's just impossible. There's no way to make a guide to cover every possible move, it would be insanely huge and useless.

Just understand the method how it's done. If the guide you have is not clear enough, find another guide.

@magipi .. Nah it wasn't impossible. It's just the animated GIFs involved a lot of steps and phases and it was as clear as mud. I got very frustrated/confused. I wrote it down as steps per phase and followed that. Then it became a breeze.

Yes

yes, i know how to do it

Yes, it can be done when the opposing king is in the corner of the board. How to get to this position requires cutting off squares to prevent the king from escaping and forcing it to move into the corner.
