Convert png/image file to .pgn or FEN

Hi bamboosky2012, this app can perfectlly serve you.

Chessify allows to scan chessboards using OCR(optical character recognition) technology. You can use your phone camera to take a photo of a chess diagram from books, papers, even LCD screens(PDFs, other sources) or you can use photos from your phone gallery then scan and analyse the position(using stockfish chess engine). Also you can share the chess position (FEN) with other chess applications.

I wrote a program that can recognize positions from books and magazines and give you the FEN. Here is the web interface where you can upload the image or paste directly from the clipboard. 

My aim was to make it good enough to read blurry images from old chess books. Try it out and let me know if there are any issues. 

 also looking for this type of technology, something that can pull PDF text and transcribe it into PGN

google search brought me here, but any info would be appreciated!

I think it was about 60%. Pretty clever though.

Congrat! your project is great and detected my diagram completely, but Winboard 4.5.2 can't read the FEN code. I think maybe that needs an update. I'll do that and comment if the problem solved. Anyone to help meanwhile is welcome...

Unfortunatelly it can't read from images from hard drive.

Do you mean chessvision.ai? It can but only in Firefox at the moment
