Can a knight and pawn win against a bishop?

Yeah. If the defending king is outside the square of the pawn you have good winning chances, especially if you have a wing pawn. Central pawns are drawish.

I do not understand why black played 83...Ba8.  Couldn't his bishop just stay at g2 and trade off the pawn and draw?
 Edit: Sorry just realized white was going to block with knight.

Sure. Life is like chess, when game ends bishop, knight or King doesn't matter goes to same box.
