Silmans complete endgame course, Dvoretsky Endgame Manual, and Nunn's chess endings both volumes, are some of the best chess books ever.

By reading Silman's complete Endgame course, I have been able to show up more than one GM with my endgame knowledge. (Just talking, mind you. Not actually playing. But still.)

The point of learning the B+K endgame is to gain a greater understanding of the knights and bishops game mechanics and how they interact, not so that you have the knowledge just in case it actually occurs. That Silman doesn't understand that angle to it is surprising and disapointing.

There are "HUNDREDS" of resources online to learn all the endgames, so why buy the book at all........

well actually, it gives huge insight and general ideas and extra detail and care in the book that you just cant find online from a free source. and also its not just B+N there either, so many other endgames with meaningful insights and detailed explanations and real world examples. ive read jeremy silmans book on imbalances, and may i say its much better than any free sources i can find, and is objectively easier to learn
