I think the best bot to train against would be Maximum.
bot rating vs human rating
I think the esiast bot is the Li Bot. I played with it and it blundered a bishop on move 10. Good training bot that should be in coach area
So true!! I played a 14 round match with Antonio-BOT (1500). I'm rated around 800. I ended up with 4.5 points (with antonio having 9.5). I shouldn't be beating him this much being 700 points lower.
There are some good comments here. I started playing again recently after 20 years off. I'm currently rated 675 and can defeat Nelson (1300) easily. On 10 minute games against humans I struggle to win against a player of the same rating as myself. I'm not sure the bots are useful.
in game review it will say the estimated elo of the bot, and it’s much lower than its actual rating, like I beat frankenisla (1800) and I’m rated 586 in rapid
I play A LOT OF BOTS and I'm pretty sure the elo rating inflation of bots is around 300-500 points. My online rapid elo is 800-900. But the 1200 bots are what I play when I just want to win, and the 1500 bots are what I play when I want to be challenged (but still have a chance at a win).
It's a bit of a bummer because I always get excited about beating a 1500 bot but I know that's not an accurate rating estimate. When I play 800-900 rated people online I'm always surprised at how 'strong' they are by comparison.
That said, they are great for trying out openings and will play a bit of theory with you -- so good for practice. Also great if you have anxiety about playing people or if you may be interrupted (since there are no time controls).
My advice if you choose to play bots is to play the strongest one you can. Then at least you'll be learning how to win!

Nah it must be Martin
I can beat the 1000-1200 bots so my main question is does this correlate with a human rated around 1000-1200? Is this overzealous thinking on my part?
I can beat bots with 1500 rating even though I don't have quite a high rating in chess.
I would say a 1000-1200 elo chess bot is about 700 elo human
The problem is there are no ranking against bots from chess.com.
I mean for example if I take the Chessmaster program in rapid (yes because normally for it to be valid we have to play with time and the bots are not obliged to play 1s or 2s per move) I can manage to win one game against Natalie.bot (2300) but into ranking against bots from Chessmater just being 2000 is really very difficult.
