It depends on your opponent’s level of play. At lower levels, a person can come back from a bad position or material loss.
Ego Chess
I have an ego. Whenever i hang any pawns, pieces in rapid, blitz games, i resign because im so tilted. Like, wouldnt those grandmaster always resign in losing positions? I heard people say 'never resign', but losing positions aint fun man... literally tilted. Open next game or never resign if i got bad position or i hang any pieces?
Actually, one should not resign due to anger. You resign if you recognize that you have lost and that there is no point in continuing in a vain and pointless battle. If you resign blinded by anger, you may not see opportunities that perhaps exist.
But, but, but... . The big difference between the masters you say and us poor amateurs is that our opponent (poor like us) can make gross mistakes even if he has a great advantage. Must be taken into consideration.
Anyway, others don't have to tell you whether to resing or not, it's your free choice. Just don't resign out of anger. Also because, you may have an ego, but at our level it's still a game.
