There are a lot of answers to your questions but the most important one is that only the top players in the world are making any real money with chess in tournaments. The vast majority of tournament players don't make money playing chess and have to have some other source of income; e.g. a regular job, chess coaching, etc.
Maybe it's quite stupid question, but i am just wondering also have lack of information about it, since i saw a lot different chess tournaments, leagues, cups, so everything became more messed up

Also i would like to know what purpose of chess clubs and meaning of rating system in tournaments ( does it help you to become a participant of tournament without any qualification )
I want to know more information about qualification for chess tournaments and how it works ( do i need be a member of a chess club, or have specific rank or need have more titles and so on)
