cause I heard a bunch of people say that doing puzzels won't help very much.
Just you gotta play and practice it
Slaying puzzles is the one thing that will help your chess. Most games are determined by tactics, the better you are at them the more successful you will be in your games.

I’ve been playing for about 4 yrs; Rating obviously started at the very bottom; I quickly got to the mid 800s and briefly above 900, thinking I may make 1000! Huh! I as well off track with that thought!! Played more chess, watched loads on YouTube, played more; got more experienced, have now gone below 800 and am struggling to stay above 720!! Pity it’s not golf, I’d be going in the right direction!!!
i am not one to give advice about getting better or at least staying at ones level as you struggle with -- but i feel your frustration and pain at this game ---just be thank-ful you are addicted to a game that costs you very little except time ---- try poker and have the same results you would have lost a fortune - probably living alone credit maxed out and depressed be on belief --i thank good very day that chess has no way to really do online money games with cheaters so rapid here -- could you see the problems ---- oh boy -- so keep plugging i will -it only cost's time and even though that is a great commodity and we will all have just some much of it left --- we all have the same to spend -- keep going the game it seems to me has much to give
