You should stop bullet for a while and improve at slow chess and gradually increase your speed.

It was said by some ancient bloke to first crawl before walking, walk before running, and run before sprinting. No idea what he was on about when he said that but might be apt for your situation here.

I started playing 3 weeks-ish ago in Lichess and I feel like I am between 1000-1200 Elos in a good day but I am shit in bullet but it's always fun to play though. I don't think the problem is in understanding and tactics it's the pressure of time and agility to make quick and precise decisions.

1700 bullet here. Here's the major points from more or less most to least important

  • Play classical chess. Really. Bullet is about having a feel about positions and you can't build that feel from quick games. Spending 10 minutes on a single position will build your instincts.
  • Learn to check the clock during bullet. This is easily the biggest thing that helped me. It's very difficult and does take time and focus, but the advantage of knowing is absolutely massive. When up on time you can actually take advantage by blunder checking yourself and your opponent, and when low on time you can go into premove mode and you'll be shocked how often you still win on time.
  • Never lose on time. Really. This is probably more a my philosophy thing but if you're losing more than 10% of your games on time, play faster and accept the mistakes that come with it. Even huge mistakes can be overcome, or not matter because you win on time. The clock however is unforgiving.
  • Review your games by looking at the clock, not the engine.
  • When you smell a tactic, don't be afraid to spend a whole 5 or even 10 seconds looking for it. Just know when to give up looking and be ready to instant move for a while after.
  • Openings are more important in bullet. It's less about memorizing and more about understanding well enough to play decent and challenging moves instantly. I often find myself up 10-15 seconds just from the opening. Having traps ready is also nice to have but not necessary.
  • Premove recaptures when it makes sense.
  • End game knowledge is always useful, and bullet is no exception.

Feel free to send me an unrated challenge sometime.

Bullet is just to make you feel like you can cope with low time and reduce the time pressure you feel, I played a lot of bullet, and basically you just learn openings and that is it. Play some blitz then you will be better in bullet

Stop playing bullet. If you want to improve, play classical chess. Bullet chess will actually slow your chess development. It leads to bad chess habits and it takes time away from other activities that can actually teach you something.
