As a 1300 13 year old I would say I am high intermediate or low major for my age, since I did quite well in the nationals. One way to check ratings of people your age is to look at the people in the latter stages of your national/ state junior championships since they are often organised by age

Average for people under 30 = age*100

11 years old chess kid in outback Australia. I reckon I can consistently beat the best kid, (his profile is called “lachlanbyrne2” and has a picture of Gothamchess) at school and/or on chess.com. My rating is only 300 be because I got stuck in low elo hell. I can consistently beat bots rated 1000-1350 with no take backs and when I Review my games, most of the time it says I played like an 800-1200.

Most of my mates don’t play and living in a small country town means that I don’t improve that much because the wifi signal isn’t strong enough to find a player. I wish I lived in sydney or smth like that. I think I would be way better than I am now. Cheers, mate.

Also I cant compete in nationals because there’s none near me. We have to go 3 hours to get Groceries and petrol (gasoline for u little bastard Americans) and that’s only in a mediocre town. The closest major city is Adelaide, 9 hours away.

I used to compete in some kids tournaments a couple of years ago when I was 11/12, I have recently stepped back from chess but still play it from time to time, I think my official English Chess Federation rating is around 900, but I'm rated higher in chess.com rapid.

I am only 1300, but I beat the 1800 bots easily. And the computer estimates me to be usually 1400-1900. The bots ratings are conpletely off. And so are the computer estimates. If your wifi is bad, then you can always play the bots you find challenging to beat.
