there is no proof consciousness is created by the brain or the body. Mentation is action not substance. The "I" is not consciousness. The "I" is brought to light by consciousness. There is no proof that "I" creates or is even made up of consciousness. The "I" is like a room with the lights turned off. Consciousness is like when a light has been turned on in the room. The "I" itself is an analogy that uses as reference embodied experience. Our vision is centered hence we get confused and think that everything is flowing out of the center. It is just as likely logically that the center is created by what's outside of it and when you look at the empirical evidence it would seem more likely that that is the case.
