Morphy doesn't look tall.
Tall players are physiologically more suited to attacking and shorter ones to defending...

How tall was the tallest GrandMaster? How short is the Shortest Grandmaster?
That confirms my worst suspicion. All great players are tall enough to rise above the coffee table and get a superb view on the chessboard and the pieces! They had such a headstart in their lives!

It's probably worth pointing out that Tal was quite short, whereas Short is quite tall
Walbrodt was 1m20cm. He is standing in this picture, second from the right

Funny thing is that I saw Reshevsky in the early 1980s when he was talking to Cedric Maxwell, the 6" 8" forward for the Boston Celtics. Maxwell was an avid chess player and came to see Sammy's simul in Charlotte. He was looking at Sammy in awe as they talked, even though it looked like he was twice as tall.
btw, Reshevsky played 40 games in the simul and scored +38-0=2. Not bad for a 70 year old man. I would like to state here for the record that I got one of the draws...but I won't because that would be untrue. 
Actually Fabiano is 6 feet 6 during quarantine and getting taller by the day.
