whats the hack?
How to "hack" your rating
You got something wrong. Staff accounts don't have both the green pawn and the diamond, they only have the green pawn.
@WestjetAirlines, it's a similar concept to editing a screenshot; it's a little more sophisticated, but can basically do the same kinds of things.
Three things:
1. You lost me at, "First . . ."
2. You seem to have a lot of technical knowledge; and
3. You have way too much time on your hands!
The whole thing is stupid and the basis of why people cheat. A high chess rating on online chess means as much as a Ph.D. from a "Life experiences" online university. It's just nonsense. The rating system is supposed to be abou t good competition but the attitude of this silly thread is what kills it here. I can't tell you how many ga mes I have played against computers by 1200 players trying to hack their ratings or 1200 players with 1800 ratings because they have hacked their ratings. They both suck equally. Unless you are a real master, your rating is nothing and you suck at chess. This feeble view of rating points like it is gold in some video game needs to stop. Honestly, anybody who would do this is a laughable, feeble person. It's unbelievable that someone thinks there is something clever about editing html or has friends that might be impressed by edited html. If this really impresses you, I can show you how to edit the USCF top-100 list so you are #1 with a 5000 rating. If that does it for you, you are a waste of air.
@hermannoodle, hacking your rating as described in this thread, only does it on your own computer, and that only until you refresh the page. It's no different from editing a screenshot. It's not the same thing as other forms of cheating or rating manipulation.

Looks like somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed today...
