I bet you have seen the videos of ChatGPT playing chess. As hilarious as they are, I wanted to have a bot to play against without the need of posting the notations and manually making the moves. This is what I came up with (medium link):

I actually got some good games against it. At least when it didn’t completely derp around like in the link example. I’m around 900.
What do you think would be a good way to estimate the rating of the bot? I was wondering if there are any calibrated open source chess engines I could make it to play against 🤔
