Ted Alex had lost his 28-year old son when he was lost in  the Maine wilderness. His son had a strong passion for chess and his father decided to create the Jeremy Alex Fund in memory of his son. In late January Ted and the foundation plan to give out chess sets to fourth grade students in his local city in memory of his son. Out of such a tragedy Ted and his family have turned it into a positive situation using chess.
