I think the postage would get expensive after a while.
So I actually have to go outside the house and "submit my move" by throwing a postcard into the mailbox? Nope.
you can play correspondence chess at the UCSF. I just started playing it about a week ago. nowadays you can do it by email with a CCD(Correspondence Chess Director) watching over the game. go to uscf.org to check out the details.

Well, my first language is not english, so I really dont care if I spell a word incorrectly. If you dont like it just get out of here, and if you dont like CC is your problem too. :)
okay fair comment...but I have this thing about phrases using more the word more...I meant no offence friend...CC is dead that is my opinion and and it makes you angry then get over it

=D... It does not make me angry. I know you are right. I just want to experience what the "more biggest" (<-- lol, I know!!) players in history feel. I know is easier to place a move here or in any other server, but I just want to try it.
P.s. CC is not all that dead, USCF and ICCF and many other organizations still play CC tournaments.
its right for you then go for it...I tend to express my opinions in strong words at times which I have to watch in the future...all the best with CC

Wow. The USPS would be happy to see people fork over money just to play chess, but does it make any sense in this day and age to play using postcards?

Hi, you have a quite a good discussion going on here..I have played correspondence chess but that was during the 1970's, thats when a postage in Australia was only 5 cents but when the price starting going up for stamps I stopped playing and that would have been during the 1980's but I did enjoy CC and felt it was very rewarding.

I want to play "real" Correspondence Chess. If any of you want to try this let me know and we can exchange adresses and start a Postal game. Maybe sound boring, and it will take a lot to finish the game. But hey, you dont want to try to play the "Original" Correspondence Chess? The one Alekhine, Euwe, and many other used to play?
