If you have a bit of time this is a real goodie -

http://www.chesstactics.org/

I like it because he explains lots of stuff that most books and sites leave out - using language that I can understand. And its free! Laughing

Keep playing tho - that will help you the most. I've been playing for years but haven't really had the time to study chess. This site and of course chess.com has really helped me.

If you want a game we can play - bit of trans-tansman rivalry never went amiss!

Cheers

I recommend Chessville.com.  It is a very comprehensive site with reviews, hints, fiction...just about everything and anything chess related.  It also publishes a free weekly e-zine that is quite good.

aimed at kids, and some of it is very basic, but chesskids is definitely worth a look.
