Rudy vs. Giuliani would definitely be an interesting one, asianplaya.

In general, national leaders have not been great chess players. Napoleon was fond of chess, but was not very good at it. Lenin, on the other hand, was pretty good; in exile he used to play Trotsky all the time, and they were both fairly advanced players. Benjamin Franklin wrote one of the earliest American tracts on chess.

Politicians in general don't have time for chess. Out of the people running for president, I'd put my money on Dennis Kucenich; he's just the sort of nerdy guy who would be a chessplayer.

Rudy Giuliani is one person--lagging behind.  Now judging from the candidates' aura, I guess Obama is the chess player among them.  So--Obama.

It should be in the off-topic section.  No offend.

I changed my mind. Mitt Romney would be the best chess player, because he is an opportunist who knows how to change his strategy from one minute to the next.

I'll go with Clinton, because her husband knows Gary Kasparov.
