Magic: not a Queens gambit! but anyway...Cool

2Qf6 is dodgy: why not attack it directy with Nf3 and Bg5?

4 Bd2 blocks the defence of the d4 pawn. The black queen can take it.

7 Nxd6+ is worth considering: ok you don't win so much material, but you get a centralised passed pawn, and a more flexible knight.

9 ...Bxd2+! is much stronger than taking the pawn, as it wins the knight (10 Qxd2, Qxb2). 9 Nf3 looks like the best way to stop this.

28 Kf3 is necessary in order to prevent the black knights forking the king and queen. The king and queen must stay off squares of the same colour. I think the queen sac is unneccessary; but if the mate was already spotted then congratulations!

Very interesting game to play through: some very good tactical thought going on

4.Bd2? hangs your d-pawn.

7.Nc7+? Your opponent could win your rook via 8...Bxd2+! 9.Qxd2 Qxa1.

9.Rb1? also leaves your rook vulnerable to the above tactic.

17.Qxg7?? walks into a mate-in-two. 17...Qc2+ 18.Ke1 Qd2#.

17...Qxc4?? misses a mate-in-two.

18...Qxf1? - Black has many pieces aiming at the center and your king is there. He should be actively pursuing checkmate.

20...Nd8? - Again, Black should be pursuing checkmate.

25...Nc5?? - Black hangs his queen.

29.Kg5?? - White walks into a king/queen fork.

33.Kg5? - Missing a mate-in-two.

I think both players would really benefit from studying tactical puzzles, especially checkmates and forks. Congratulations on your win and good luck with your chess! Smile

My bad. It's a habit... I'm brutal with my own games.

I like how you simply continued developing with 3.Nf3 after 2...Qf6. Some people would respond by counter-attacking with their own queen.

I like how you forsaw the knight fork and played 6.Nb5.

10.Bxb4, exchanging off one of the attacking pieces, was a good idea.

And with 28.Nxb5 you did take the free queen.

So you had some good ideas, too. Smile

Greyfox it's ok...d4d5c4 is the queen gambit...it's true that an ouverture is only the 3 or 4 firsts moves...after thay are variations?

Likeforests, thank you for your comments. It's true that chess are brutals, what i learned is that's it's question of a lot of things, i mean, inhibition, reflexion, initiative, our best ennemy is ourselves...damned!

But psychologie and wine Laughing can change futur: I am not a really good player, and a friend is (rated)...i learned with him (Queen gambit Vs Est indienne) and you can won also with How you put the pawn onto the board (strongly ;), the looks , attitudes, smiles, initiative, don't "hésiter" to exchange pieces, favoriser la position, have a good pawn's strucure, not to use the queen too early ( and that's why I won this game, I saw this (queen too early) and decided to devellop my game knowing it was a bad idea so that i could do 7. Nc7+

But théorie is good and tactical(finals is hard) also, and i have to WORK a lot...

Thanks to you i learned a lot...

Ps indeed i won 3 games on 4 with the queen gambit, or a kind of ;)
